Communication seminar in Croatia helped to strengthen the partnership cooperation between VET stakeholders

On 16 May 2024, the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts (HOK) organized the communication seminar in order to improve the cooperation between VET stakeholders in Croatia. The event was the part of project activities from Work Package 2 – Tools for Improvement of VET Stakeholders cooperation, and it gathered craftsmen – mentors in companies, VET teachers and advisors for education in regional chambers to discuss challenges and learn how to manage challenging situations through assertive and inclusive communication.

The idea of the event was to bring together different stakeholders in one place and give them time, space and guidelines to discuss recurring challenges in vocational education and training. The seminar provided a platform for participants to learn how to communicate effectively, especially in challenging and stressful situations. Through practical assignments, they discovered ways to address key challenges in their everyday work and discuss potential solutions. Another seminar topic was managing students with special needs and dealing with challenges of educating those kinds of students on the everyday basis.

The seminar concluded on a high note, with participants agreeing on the importance of such events. They appreciated the opportunity to share ideas, discuss challenges, and learn from their colleagues’ experiences. The consensus was clear: partnership cooperation requires time and effort, but the results are well worth it.

This communication seminar, attended by 40 participants from across Croatia, was a testament to the power of collaboration and the dedication to continuous learning. It served as a reminder that when we come together to share knowledge and experiences, we can overcome any challenge and create a brighter future for vocational education and training in Croatia.
