As part of the opening ceremony of the #Strukovizija 2025 fair held on April 25, 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to establish cooperation with the aim of increasing the quality of vocational education and training. This important step is part of the project activities of the Erasmus+ project “Joint Mentoring”, implemented by the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts. The Memorandum was signed by the Međimurje County, the Međimurje County Chamber of Trades and Crafts as the activity organiser, and the directors of vocational schools in the county.
The Memorandum defines a series of activities aimed at strengthening the connection of educational institutions with the economy, namely:
- promoting all forms of work-based learning with a special emphasis on apprenticeships, through the organization of round tables, conferences and information events,
- continuous training of teachers and mentors in trades and small and medium-sized enterprises,
- improving the system for monitoring the implementation of apprenticeships and the progress of students in acquiring practical knowledge and skills,
- supporting the development and adaptation of the legislative framework for vocational education and training,
- establishing effective cooperation processes between all relevant stakeholders.
The aim of these activities is to raise the quality and attractiveness of vocational education, which will ensure the development of young professionals ready to respond to the actual needs of the labor market and the modern economy.
The signing of the Memorandum represents an important step towards creating a more efficient, modern and attractive vocational education system, to the satisfaction of students, schools and employers.
